Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plan

The Township of Hornepayne’s Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plan addresses our energy conservation goals from 2020 to 2024 by looking at:

  • Current and proposed energy conservation measures
  • Results from our prior Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) Plan
  • Changes made from our prior CDM plan to help achieve new goals

Vision

Our vision is to continuously reduce our total energy consumption and greenhouse gases (GHGs) while maintaining our public and client services. This will involve:

  • Improving operational efficiency
  • Increasing education and awareness of energy management in our community
  • Integrating energy efficient infrastructure

Goals

Our Conservation and Demand Management Plan seeks to achieve five goals:

  • Adopt standard internal processes that incorporate conservation awareness
  • Improve the reliability of our equipment and reduce maintenance costs
  • Integrate the Conservation and Demand Management Plan with the Capital Plan, Asset Management Plan and Strategic Plan
  • Reduce our annual energy consumption by an additional 10 per cent by 2024 compared to the 2014 baseline
